Top Returning Players
Vernon Lowndes- 6’5 guard: Vernon is a three level scorer. He shoots it at a high level and can get into the lane and finish around the rim. He is long and athletic with very solid handles. Vernon is a gym rat and is constantly working on his game. He will graduate with his associates degree in the spring.
Jahlin Smith: 6’7 Forward: He is a great athlete who can run the floor, finish at the rim and block shots. He has guard skills and is a matchup problem for most people. Jahlin upside is through the roof as he continues to put on some weight and strength (Committed to Savannah State)

Jami Sanders- 6’4 Wing: Active wing who can defend multiple positions. Scores it really well in transition and does not need to dominate the ball to score. Jami has a nice one dribble pull-up jump shot. He is a very tough kid who exceeds in whatever role you give him. Jami will graduate with his associates degree in the spring.
Austin Stone- 6’9 Forward/Center: Austin is a legitimate 6’9 with a great frame. He is tough around the basket and can score with a jump hook with both the right and the left hand. Throughout the off season he has developed a consistent jump shot from 3. Austin can move his feet and defend ball screens around the perimeter. He is constantly working on his game and continues to improve everyday. Over the past year his development has been unbelievable. Austin will graduate with his associates degree in the spring.
Eric Manigault: 6’1 PG: Eric is a tough guard who can really handle the ball. He is very good in the open court and finishes well! He is a great on the ball defender that can really pressure the ball. Eric is on pace to graduate in the Spring.
Daniel Waeber- 6’8 forward/center: Daniel is an international from Switzerland. He has a big frame and is a skilled big man. Daniel can shoots it well and is a good passer. He is very physical around the basket. Daniel will graduate in the spring.
Darrian Patterson- 6’6 Forward: Darrian is an athletic forward who runs the floor well and can be an above the rim rebounder. Has a solid jump hook in the post. He shoots the midrange at a high percentage and can knock it down out to the 3 point line. Darrian can defend the perimeter and the post. He is on pace to graduate in the Spring.
Deshaw Andrews- 6’5 Forward/Wing (York High School)
Reggie Wright- 5’9 PG (Southside High School)
AJ Brooks- 6’1 Guard (Erskine College)
Marques Sumner- 6’2 Guard (North Augusta High School)
USC Salkehatchie returns some key pieces for the 2016-2017 team. This includes 6’9 big Austin Stone, 6’7 forward Jahlin Smith, 6’4 wing Jami Sanders, and 6’5 guard Vernon Lowndes. The Indians return a total of seven Sophomores. Look for newcomers: Deshaw Andrews, Reggie Wright, AJ Brooks, and Marques Sumner to have an early impact. This year’s team will have good size across the board and expecting depth at each position. The Indians will have a challenging non-conference schedule and compete in a tough Region X this year.
