Player Eval: Shane Henry Georgia Perimeter

By: Kris Watkins

As a freshman Henry led the GCAA conference in Field Goal percentage at 58.6 percent on his way to being named GCAA All Freshman team and Honorable Mention All Conference.  Henry was a solid performer as a Freshman scoring 9.4ppg, and chipping in 6.9rpg. Henry, the local product of Newton County High School has really stepped his game up during his sophomore campaign as he is averaging a double double at just over 13ppg/13rpg in addition to being one of the top shot blockers in the country at over 5blocks per game.

What we like

In Watching Henry one of the things that really stands out is his ability at the forward position to have an effect on both ends of the floor.  On the defensive end he is an outstanding helpside defender which is where he gets a large number of his blocks, on the offensive end he has shown the ability to score in a multitude of ways both on the offensive glass, spotting up for the jumper, and slashing to the rim.
